AFFINA Donates More than 200 Teddy Bears to Patients at
The Children’s Hospital of Illinois
Peoria, Ill., February 23, 2007
For more than 200 sick children in Central Illinois, Valentine’s Day was made a little bit more special, thanks to employees at AFFINA – The Customer Relationship Company. The Company’s Peoria, Illinois employees donated more than 200 new teddy bears during the week of February 4 to support local radio station 97.3 River Country’s region-wide drive for The Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
“Our employees are passionate about helping the children at The Children’s Hospital of Illinois,” said Brian Dunphy, management sponsor of AFFINA’s Charitable Contributions Committee. “Each year, we survey our Peoria employees, and helping kids is always among the top causes to support. If these bears made the kids smile a little more on Valentine’s Day, then we’ve done our job.”
More than 1,100 Teddy Bears were collected by the radio station region-wide, with 20 percent coming from AFFINA employees.
“I am impressed by the number of Teddy Bears (AFFINA) collected,” said Lisa Franks, a DJ from 97.3 River Country. AFFINA’s donation ensured every child in the facility will receive a teddy bear, and that there are enough to distribute for many months to come.
